Hi Reader, When the world goes mad and there's so much uncertainty, it can be so hard to stay focused on our dreams and goals. But one thing I always remember is... "The pen is mightier than the sword," as Edward Bulwer-Lytton once wrote. Right now, we writers have a wonderful tool at our disposal. We can turn to our journals to sort our thoughts and unload our fears and worries. But we can also write words that help others, too. Through books, essays, blogs, and more, we can share words of wisdom, comfort, and peace. We can teach, share our knowledge, break complex things down into simple steps, help someone through a difficult transformation, solve problems, give hope, make people laugh, and enlighten. We each have a lived experience that has shaped us, and when we write down our stories and share them with others, we never know who we will touch. Our words have a great impact, and that's a superpower we can use for the good, anytime we choose. Right now, even! There's never been a better time to write the book that's been on your mind and in your heart. As people turn away from social media, doomsday media, and propaganda—we writers can have a far-reaching positive impact when people so desperately need thought leadership and even just good old entertainment. It's a special gift. The world needs your stories. The world needs your voice. Your perspective. Your wisdom. Your world view. Writing can be a great sacrifice—it's not easy to pour out one's heart and soul onto the page for anyone's eyes to read. Writing a book, especially, takes time, dedication, energy, and so much more. But it's one of the best ways I know to truly make an impact on the world and capture our legacy for all time. We need diverse voices. Right now, some world leaders and their supporters have grabbed onto frightening amounts of power and are trying to exploit that power to take diversity away—to shut down voices they don't want to hear.
